Where to Play During the Plaza Park Closure
September 30 – October 30, 2026
Plaza Park pickleball courts will be closed for resurfacing from September 30 through October 30. To help everyone keep playing during the closure, Pickleball Visalia has compiled a list of alternative courts throughout Visalia and the surrounding area.
We hope everyone takes this opportunity to try some different courts, meet some new players and keep playing while we wait for our newly resurfaced Plaza Park courts!

Pickleball Visalia is a group of Pickleball enthusiasts who love to play and socialize. We are a Tulare County group comprised mostly of local players of varying levels of gameplay. We encourage those interested in joining the group to contact us through our contact form at the bottom of this page, or better yet…. MEET US ON THE COURT!
EVENTS
Currently, Visalia offers two locations where people can play pickleball free of charge to the public. They are as follows:
PLAZA PARK
9000 W Airport Dr, Visalia, CA 93277
Free Public Courts
- 8 lighted pickleball courts with permanent nets and lines
- Located south of the tennis courts
- Courts are open daily from 6:00am – 10:00pm
- Light switches are located between courts 6 and 7 on the north wall
- Restrooms
RECREATION PARK
345 N Jacob St, Visalia, CA 93291
Free Public Court
- 4 courts total
- 2 lighted courts with permanent nets and lines – located south of the Skate Park
- 2 courts with permanent lines – portable nets available at the Recreation Office on site
- Coming Fall 2026 4 Additional permanent lighted pickleball courts
- Courts are open daily from 6:00am – 10:00pm
- Lights automatically turn on at dusk
LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO PLAY WITH?
The most likely times to find groups to join are 8:00-11:00am and 6:00-9:00pm daily at Plaza Park
Court Availability Notice
Courts may not be available during some organized events.
- e.g., Tuesday mornings , Tuesday and Wednesday evenings when City Scrambles are being held

NEW TO PICKLEBALL?
Want to learn the basics of pickleball-serving, scoring, court positioning, and rotation?
Members of the Pickleball Visalia Club host free “Intro to Pickleball” sessions for beginners.

- Monday Nights: 6:00-9:00pm – Courts 4, 5 & 6
- Thursday Mornings: 8:00-10:00am – Court 8
What to Bring:
- Wear court Shoes
- Water for hydration
- Pickleball paddle if you have one
- No paddle? No Problem! We’ll have paddles available for you to borrow

Courts at Plaza Park and Recreation Park can be reserved through the City of Visalia reservation system.

IN-SHAPE PICKLEBALL COURTS
909 N. Demaree St, Visalia, CA 93291
Courts are located within the In-Shape fitness facility. Access and play are limited to active gym members.
- 6 outdoor concrete courts
- Portable nets used for play
- On-site fitness club amenities available to members
